Peach country at its most literal — a crossroads, a packing house that's been running since the 1890s, and orchards in every direction.
Musella is barely a crossroads in Crawford County, and it's known across Georgia for one thing: peaches. The packing house here has been running since the 1890s, which makes it one of the oldest continuously operating peach operations in the state, and the orchards spread out around it across the rolling ground north of the Fall Line.
Orchard country means a kind of tree work most companies never get asked for. Peach blocks have a working life — generally twelve to fifteen productive years before they're pushed out and replanted — and clearing an aged block is volume work: a great many small trees in close rows, a great many stumps, and everything hauled off so the ground can be prepped. The same goes for old pecan rows and windbreaks along field edges.

"JC and his team took down 60 or so dead and dying eastern cedar trees between 30 and 50 feet tall. They cut, hauled and cleaned up all of the trees and under-brush in one day. I have used JC before and both times the work was excellent and his fees were very reasonable. He is my tree guy!!"

What property owners around Musella ask us most.
Yes. It's volume work rather than technical work — a lot of small trees in close rows, a lot of stumps, and everything hauled off so the ground can be prepped for replanting. Give us the acreage and the row spacing and we'll walk it for one written price.
Generally around twelve to fifteen years before yields fall off enough to justify pulling and replanting, though it varies by variety, rootstock and how the block has been managed.
For pecans, yes — it's a brittle wood and healthy trees shed limbs readily, sometimes on a still day. That's fine for the tree and dangerous for whatever's underneath. Deadwooding and selective reduction over the things you care about is usually the right answer, not removal.
Yes, and that's where the economics work hardest in your favor. Getting the machine out is most of what one stump costs, so a block's worth of stumps in one visit is dramatically cheaper per stump.
